Origin68 – the holy grail of t-shirts
As a girl, I’m always on the look out for a t-shirt I can buy my boyfriend and a couple of months later steal for myself! So I was pretty pleased when I stumbled upon the Origin68 website, or as its rather aptly named, the holy grail of t-shirts.
Origin68 is the brainchild of two Manchester based t-shirt enthusiasts Matt and Harry. Buoyed on by their hippy ideals that a t-shirt can change the world they set to work designing their art.
The concept behind their t-shirts is that of wearable art, designs that provoke thought in people and make some kind of comment about the world in which we live in. Their philosophy is that a t-shirt should allow us to express a response to our environment, surroundings, culture, society and hopefully make us look half decent whilst we do it!
We’re loving their latest creation, a collaboration with the now legendary Si Scott. The design features a dove, the symbol of peace, in Si Scott’s highly intricate, hand-drawn signature style, which can been seen in the images below.
Si Scott has his own characteristic style that combines hand-inked artwork with modern typography. His prestigious and ever-expanding client list includes the likes of Adidas, Converse, Diesel, Gap, Hugo Boss, Matthew Williamson, Nike and Uniqlo.

Origin68 Continental Clothing tees offer a superior quality and their sizing is pretty much standard, perhaps slightly on the fitted side, just how Stylenerds likes them! The t-shirts are all very reasonably priced at only £18, you can’t find much better than that!
Unlike many websites, where the shipping can cost almost the price of your entire order, they have a fixed shipping rate of only £2 no matter what you order or where in the world you are based.
The best thing about their tees is that they are Continental Earth Positive t-shirts, which are manufactured to high ethical standards, being climate neutral and organic.
Origin68 also do women’s fit tees, so if you don’t fancy your other half stretching your t-shirt, you can buy one each!
So what are you waiting for? Head over to their website now to bag yourself a great quality organic tee.

The new look Topman website
Here at Stylenerds, we are loving the new look Topman website.
We thought we’d list a few of the reasons why:
- All men’s T-shirts and vests are 2 for £12, including raw edge tees, classic crews and V-neck tees.
- The new range of chinos are great for getting the nautical look, just add a striped tee and boat shoes. They are also available in some great colours for this season and start at just £26.
- Following on from the carrot fit trend, the new Arc leg jeans are worn on the waist, taper in at the ankle and hang low on the crotch. They look great turned up with your favourite trainers for a summer look and are reasonably priced at £44.
- Based in East London ourselves and after spending many a weekend in Brick Lane, we are of course fans of the Latest Trend collection, which takes its inspirations from the East London and Scandinavian Urban Folk music scene. It includes brushed flannel checks worn alongside fine vintage knits, fairisle jumpers and slim fit chinos. Prices range from £7 for a military button T-shirt, to £80 for a blue denim jersey jacket.
- Topman LTD Equestrian range has a real emphasis on design, detail, fabric and fashion. It’s definitely all about layering and textures, including quilted, cord, waffle, tweed and wool materials making an appearance. The look highlights the fashions of the equestrian world, with pleated chinos, grandad T-shirts, quilted cardigans, skinny tweed blazers and leather boots. Prices start at just £14 for a print vest and range up to £120 for the khaki skinny jacket.
- Topman have teamed up with iconic British designer Oliver Spencer to create an exclusive shoe collection. The 100% leather Chukka Boots feature the unique red EVA wedge sole design, are priced at just £85 and are available in brown and beige. They are selling out fast so grabs yours now while they last!

King Spring 2010 Collection
As we were rummaging through our inbox, we noticed the guys over at King hit us up with a preview of their Spring 2010 line. Notably being successful in working with New Era, being the only UK label creating specialised and exclusive ly designed 5950 fitted caps, their new collection shouldn’t go amiss.
Bold colours and slogans always go well with t-shirts and it seems their designs are getting better as the label grows. It’s a shame their pop-up store in Covent Garden closed earlier this month, because judging from their Spring 2010 LookBook, there seems to be quite a few nice pieces i’d like to get. Word has it though that there already planning the venue of their new pop-up store, so we’ll keep you posted on the launch.
Head on over to King to get the lowdown on where you can find stockists and online stores.

Smudge the Bear – A Breath of Fresh Air
Last weekend I was wandering the streets of Shoreditch with my usual swagger but suddenly I was stopped in my tracks by Smudge the Bear. Consisting of two London-based fresh faced lads Smudge the Bear also come with with fresh ideas!
Their approach is very different from all the other up and coming brands in all corners of the world, from the eye-catching photo-collage T shirt designs to the Pizza Box style bag that the T-shirt comes in once purchased.
Their stall is located opposite the Sunday Upmarket in the Brick lane area where you will also be able to see their folding machine and accordion style sofa. Their first batch is still available with the next batch of designs being released within the next month (Don’t worry we’ll let you know just before it hits their stall). Also visit their website.
Anyway, as “A picture is worth a thousand words” check out the pictures from their latest collection below…

Jeepney Are Pushers
Glorification of drug use is not big or clever. However this t-shirt is like the cotton embodiment of how many a gent has felt at 11:32 on a Saturday night. It can be found on a 21% mark down from the Karmaloop website for $22.00.
Week Three Must Have – The Ubiquitous Grey Crew-Neck Tee
Somewhere in any man’s closet there will be at least several of these tucked away among the piles; the basic plain grey marl t-shirt is a timeless classic.
