Hella Tight Snapbacks & Fitteds

Just before Christmas i noticed that my favourite grey snap back cap had lost it’s shape (actual cause unknown, but some say alcohol and certain acts of misdemeanor played a part in it’s demise), so i thought i’d get a new one. After a couple failed shopping attempts i came across Hella Tight, whose wide selection of caps lead me to the Calavera fitted & Land of the Kings Snapback.

Now i’m not the biggest fan in fitteds, as i my head always seems to be between sizes, but i’d thought i’d give this one a go just because of the detail in material they choose for there caps. The Calavera fitted is made fom 100% grey wool with an embroided candy skull on the front & the Hella Tight logo embroided in pink on the back. What stood out for me though was the under bill made from yellow satin & a yellow leather top button. The Land of the Kings Snapback is a collaboration between Hella Tight and U-N-I (till this day i still have ‘Beautiful Day’ on rotation, just love it) and boasts the iconic LA Lakers colours of purple & yellow. The snapback is yellow along with yellow satin for the under bill and top button & the front portion of the cap is somewhat narrower than the Calavera cap.

I originally bought both caps direct from Hella Tight but the Calavera is no longer on their site. A limited size is still available at CraniumFitteds.

See Into the Future?

This time last year there was some discussion about these bad boys. They first came on the ‘Nerd’s radar funnily via the N*E*R*D “Everyone Nose (Remix)” video on your boy Pharrell. Oh how we chuckled to ourselves, then something was brought up. Go back and peep the video for N*E*R*D “She Wants To Move” March 2004 and there he is again sporting some white framed wayfarers. Almost a year before the likes of Ms Moss even thought about such things.

Last year they could be had for £275.00 at Oki-Ni and were released on the 30th September. We suppose only time will tell if people will take to the Gordi La Forge/Urban Music Visionary look.

They remind me of that black dude from Star Trek (Sorry I forgot his name! oops!)

Yakkay - Couture Helmets

It’s one of those horrible things about modern day life – health and safety always has to come first and often this is at the expense of looking good; having to wear a helmet when on your bicycle is no exception. Well, this could be the solution to your ‘looking-good-when-cycling’ issues (well at least one of them).

Introduce, stage-left, the couture bicycle helmet. Find out more after the jump.

Yakkay, the fashion cycle people, have come up with a helmet which allows for a range of changeable ‘covers’ that basically look like hats. It’s a bit reminiscent of Bret in Flight Of The Conchords, when he was trying to make a helmet that looks like your hair. ’Ha’, he must be thinking now about his critics. Not such a stupid idea after all.

Admittedly, the ladies are better-catered for here (as, I imagine, they make the most fuss) but the Stylenerds pick of the bunch has to be the Paris model, in “Harringbone” or Herringbone pattern to the rest of us.
