The Country Gent Boot by Henri Lloyd

Since their creation in 1963, Henri Lloyd have been responsible for pioneering the wonder material of the 1960s, Bri-Nylon, the first non-corrosive zip made of nylon, the introduction of a Velcro closure in waterproof garments and the hand taping of seams as an alternative to varnishing for waterproof integrity and strength.  They are now continuing their success by branching out with a more contemporary approach to their new AW10 Collection, with fresh branding and a particular focus on the latest shapes, colour palettes and sourcing the highest quality European leathers and finishes.

Henri Lloyd may be best known as a British Sailing Heritage brand, but their new ‘Country Gentboot for AW10 is a contemporary twist for this traditional brand.  We’ve seen the vintage lace-up boot make a massive comeback over the last year, with the likes of AllSaints, French Connection, Topman, River Island and Asos all featuring the tapered drop crotch carrot fit or arc fit jeans with either a leather derby or military boot.

Heritage is a key theme for the AW10 season and these hand crafted derby boots are individually burnished to create a distinctive vintage look to the full grain leather.  The Charlebury boot is a modern take on the classic derby boot style makes use of high quality resin ‘oiled’ canvas, sourced from Italian Mills, while the lining is the original brushed cotton Henri Lloyd check fabric.

Check out the Charlebury boots in more detail below.

If you like what you see and are willing to pay £140, head over to their website or their flagship store on Carnaby Street, London.

Vans Coloured By Crayola

Here at Stylenerds, Vans Authentic are our staple summer shoe.  Unchanged since their conception in 1966, Vans Authentic classic skate shoes can be worn with rolled up chinos, shorts or jeans for the perfect casual summer look.

Always coming out with new ingenious collections, it didn’t surprise us to hear that Vans latest collaboration was with Crayola.  When you hear the name Crayola, memories of your earliest creative masterpieces quickly come to mind.  The iconic wax crayon company has joined forces with the original skater footwear company Vans to bring you the Vans Colored by Crayola collection.

The Vans colored by Crayola collection for Autumn/Winter 2010 combines Vans Classics styles capturing the fun spirit and colours of Crayola, including all your favourite crayon shades: Carnation Pink, Dandelion, Blue and Violet.  The flecked white design over the bold colours adds to the authentic crayon-drawn look.

Vans have even revamped their iconic Vans Checkerboard pattern, with a special Crayola-style makeover, reminiscent of your childhood doodles.  There are 11 different colour patterns available in the Classic Slip-On, Authentic, Era and Sk8-Hi styles in a wide range of sizes.

Ransom By Adidas Originals Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

So it seems as the partnership between Ransom and Adidas Originals continues to grow. There’s been a few sneak peaks but with the release of their Spring/Summer 2010 Lookbook we can now see the entirety of their new collection. Within it are six styles, The Pier, The Dune, The Creek, The Bluff, The Valley & The Curb all of which consist of the standard solid models you’d come to expect from Ransom, but with Adidas at their side there is definitely some classy vibrant colours for the summer sun.

Check out the Lookbook video below.

Vans E-Street Hemp Shoes

I know we’re still a good two months away but with the weather getting warmer, and the days getting longer it feels as if summer is upon us. So while trying to get as much of this beautiful weather as we can why not do it with the new Vans E-street series (And yes, you may be asking yourselves ‘wheres the connection with summer and these shoes’, but hey… i had to start with something)

I’ll let Vans do the talking:

‘The Vans E-Street is a new classic if that makes any sense. Straight outta the 1970′s the E-Street is a card carrying Surf series slide with the lowest of low-profiles, vulcanized construction and soft natural hemp uppers. Hemp requires no pesticides or fertilizer and needs less water to grow then cotton. Vans surf uses hemp to move one step closer towards lessening their footprint on the planet…’

Other then being soo-ecofriendly, the shoes themselves are a gem coming in two colourways, Gusauskas Black & Doheny Red. Pricewise being £32.50 over at Urbanindustry, their really good on the pocket too.

Check below for a closer look.

Palladium Boots – Get the Casual Boot Look

Everybody knows that worn boots with the jeans tucked in are hot right now. All Saints have been pushing this look hard coupled with a scoop neck tee, loose fitted cardigan and an oversized beanie. Dr Martens are also making a come back and they have recently released boots in a multitude of colours. All in all, boots are back with a bang and Palladium boots have something to say about it!

Palladium held a launch party last week in association with Size? where the Stylenerds saw the likes of London radio Pirate MC’s: Jammer, J2K, JME, Logan Sama & Miss Dynamite. The thing is, if you look at the types of people that wear boots nowadays the last thing you would expect them to be into would be Grime (or any other sub-genre). Although this may seem strange, I believe it works perfectly with Palladium boots because of their rugged design and the dark industrial colours that they are available in.

These boots can also be worn with a variety of looks whether it would be the All Saints look with the jeans tucked in or an outfit you would wear with a pair of Timberlands with the jeans turned up. Lastly, my pick of the collection has to be the Baggy Boot in the mustard colour.

Check out the images below and Size? for the whole collection.

Android Homme – Spring 2010 Collection

As you do, I met up with one of the guys from Android Homme at a boat party back on Boxing day during my trip to Hong Kong for Christmas.

Admittedly, I knew nothing about Android Homme before then, but all I knew was that his kicks were looking fresh! I think they were Propulsion 2′s but anyway, what caught my eye was the quality of the overall trainer.

I don’t know how these guys do it but, cracking the seemingly saturated sneaker market during a recession with a product made of the highest quality materials must have some people scratching their heads in bemusement.

Android Homme have indeed cracked this tough market and they also seem to be one of the pioneers of growing trend of “premium trainers” such as Dior, Louis Vuitton & Kris Van Assche. May I stress that even though Android Homme is a premium trainer it does come with a considerably more affordable price tag (£100 approx). This is particularly good news for me as I am still saving up for a pair of Kris Van Assche’s.

After much success from the release of Propulsion 2, there is now another limited edition colour available. The Propulsion 2 is now available in zinc metal and there are only 200 pairs available! As I expected, this release comes with all the “bells & whistles” such as pigskin lining, full grain leather and waxed laces.

This release is only available from their site here. Check out the images below including the original Propulsion 2′s (Black and White)

The 25 Coolest Sneaker Designs of 2009

You know the year is definitely coming to an end when articles and reviews start popping up on the ‘Best of 09′. At first when i saw that Bloomberg Business Week had rounded up The 25 Coolest Sneaker Designs of 2009 i was a bit skeptical of what decisions they had made, but then reading it and realising that they had in fact teamed up with Sneaker Freaker to do the review i was quite impressed.

Below I’ve picked out 5 sneakers from the list that i think are worthy of a ‘Best of ’09′ accolade. You can check out the rest of the review here. Finally as a bonus Sneaker Freaker have rounded up the Best of the Best 2009 with comments from the likes of Crooked Tongues own Gary Warnett and sneakers fanatics like A-Track.
