Breath of Fresh Air – Art of the Trench by Burberry
Ok, I know what you’re saying, are you crazy?! Burberry are renowned for their Trench Coats! Let me tell you something, when you see the video below followed by the website you will say “Moses was right, that was a Breath of Fresh Air”. The Youtube link below is the pre launch video of “The Art of the Trench” and it is where high fashion meets augmented reality or, what it should look like very soon. As this is a Men’s fashion blog, I won’t go into a detailed explanation as to what augmented reality is, but I will tell you it’s freaking awesome!
The website has now launched and it’s where high fashion meets The Sartorialist with feel to the site. It’s a great website just to see how other people around the world wear their trench coats and a great source of inspiration. You can also share your thoughts with other people and share it on facebook. It definitely worth visiting even if you don’t plan on wearing a trench anytime soon. You never know, it might convince you to buy one!
Snow Protection: Hollister Desert Springs
As I’ve just walked through what was technically a blizzard, I’ve decided I need to renegotiate my winter wardrobe and buy some warmer stuff. So much for global warming eh? Anyway, as per the usual I went over the top and started looking for the simplest, most practical and warm overcoat I could find starting with brands like North Face, then decided the look just doesn’t work – regardless of how cold it is.
So back to Hollister and found this little gem – the Desert Springs hooded sweater. I highly doubt it’ll shield your skin from the wet and snow, but it will certainly keep you warm with its fur lining. I don’t believe it’s available from stores in the UK (which isn’t relevant anyway since nothing is ever in stock there anyway) but it can be ordered from their online store which will ship you it direct from the US.
Priced at £160 + £20 shipping. Click here to buy it from Hollister.
Fo’ Shawl
Its nearly Christmas and party season is definitely upon us. Bringing you more news on current trends, here is one that has really stuck out this A/W 09; the shawl collar. Adding a interesting touch to your bog-standard peacoat. Here is the current offering from Obey, The Boddington Jacket. Its quilted lining is gauranteed to keep you warm, even in Norway.
In a typical Stylenerds flash of internet shopping brilliance here is one in mark downs on Topman and a longer navy trench style one by Mjolk. They delivery to most of Europe and all of the USA.
Check these cropped navy 10 Deep bad boys below that have just come into Leaders, Chicago.
