Vivienne Westwood – 3 Button Collar Shirt
For a very long time I have visited Selfridges Super Brands and constantly procrastinate over this 3 buttoned shirt by Vivienne Westwood but the sticking point was always the price! How could I fully justify spending nearly £200 on a shirt?! It’s a given, it would look awesome on but £200.00?! Now I no longer need to go through that painful thought process thanks to this Korean brand called “Dangoon”.
The main details are the same with the big collar, slim cut and the three buttons at the top of the shirt by the collar. Oh it gets better gentlemen, the shirt is being sold less than a tenth YES, a TENTH of the price of the Vivienne Westwood version!!!
The shirts come in a range of colours and on the website they have suggested great outfits to go with the shirt like the cravat which, in 2010 is going to be like what the bowtie was to 2009 (check out my article on Junya Watanabe for more powerful Cravat creations). The shirt also looks great with a deep v neck knitter jumper, on it’s own on just with a simple blazer on top.
I just cannot believe how cheap these shirts are so I would snap them up fast! Oh yeah, one last thing, it comes with free international shopping…
If you have no qualms about forking out on the Vivienne Westwood, you can get it from Selfridges & Triads
The slightly cheaper offering from Dangoon is available from here

Oliver Spencer X Monocle – Simple, Functional & Chic?
I am a great fan of Monocle magazine. Why? Monocle has also really tapped an area of the market that has been left malnourished for a considerable amount of time and this very brave during these challenging times for the publishing sector. As a part of their offering, they have set up shop in London, Los Angeles and online. The range is very exclusive and features brands from around the world which pride themselves on quality and have a strong sense of individuality.
The Oliver Spencer shirt is one of the many goodies featured in the Monocle store. This shirt features the classic Oxford style shirt plus some added extras. The shirt has been contructed using the highest quality cotton coupled with the trademark slim cuffs. It has also been “jazzed” up with a hidden pocket by the waist, which is handy and there is also pen/passport chest pocket. Available from collar sizes 15-17″. There are only 60 of these in each colour (white/blue) worldwide and are available from their stores (London and Los Angeles) and also online.

Breath of Fresh Air – Bleu de Paname
With only their first collection, they have turned heads and received a lot of press attention. They are currently stocked in many of the top boutiques/shops around the world, Dover Street Market (London), Kapok (Hong Kong) and Colette (Paris) to name a few…
I went to go and check out their latest collection at Dover Street Market and could quite clearly see what the fuss was about. The Jeans are made from a lovely 13oz denim, which in my opinion is a nice weight for everyday use as well as keeping that rigid denim feel that we all love! Denim shirts are flavour of the month at the moment and Bleu de Paname have one of the best designs out there at the moment. I also love the shape of the pocket flaps on the shirts from the rest of the collection.
I suppose what is really refreshing about Bleu de Paname is that their inspirations are somewhat unconventional. Across their collection, they have taken sources of inspiration from 21st century military, British prisons and the blue collar industry.
Stylenerds eagerly anticipate their second look book which is due to be released shortly. Below are some pictures from their first collection and also a sneak peak into the making of the 2nd look book. Check their website for your nearest stockist

Summer (sh)jackets
Okay so a bit biased as one of us is wearing this while posting, but hey it fits like a glove and looks great with only the top one/two buttons done up. Its nice and light weight for S/S and although unfortunately not flannel, you can still pretend you’re Easy-E (pre AIDS). Heres what the Topman blog had to say about it:
“If you’re not familiar with this garment type yet, then get to know it quickly as its set to be big in A/W 09. With the formal styling of a shirt shaped straighter and often fabricated like a jacket, this truly is a diverse wardrobe piece. Wear it open with a tee underneath or buttoned to the top with a pair of skinny jeans, however you rock the Shacket it’s a great update for A/W 09.”

The Brooklyn Circus BKc Wool Contradiction Shirt

BKc Wool Contradiction Shirt
Established since 2006, The Brooklyn Circus is not your ordinary streetwear store as it also injects a sample of corporate America while still inspiring the masses with urban culture. Stores located in New York, San Francisco and Chicago, BKc supply such brands as Rich Yung (one to look out for), Nudie Jeans, Maharishi, Nike and Adidas. What sets this laid back vintage inspired store from the rest is their own brand of fashionable clothing and accessories, thus bringing me on to this item of clothing.
